Nokia’s latest earphones are mainly meant for outdoor use, especially for sports or other physical activities. Being sports earphones, both the Nokia Wired and Nokia Active Wireless Earphones comes with sweat and dust resistance properties. In fact, the Nokia Active Wireless Earphones are water and dust proof. HMD Global, however, doesn’t reveal whether the earphones are IP certified. Both the Nokia Active Wired Earphones and Nokia Active Wireless Earphones feature a metal build. While they don’t look really identical, there’s no doubt in saying that their design is quite ergonomic. Among the two, the Nokia Active Wireless Earphones come with a diamond cut aluminum casing. Besides, it’s extremely lightweight at just 15.6 grams. The wired earphones, on the other hand, come with a highly reflective flat wire.
The Nokia earphones feature a built-in mic for phone attending phones calls. They also have inline controls for receiving calls or pausing songs and changing volumes. Internally, both the earphones use 9mm dynamic drivers and come with passive noise canceling. The Nokia Active Wireless Earphones comes with a 45 x 2mAh battery. This battery is rated for 8 hours of on-call time. It uses Bluetooth 4.1 for connecting with your smartphone. The wireless earphones also come with a USB A to Micro USB cable for charging. Needless to say, that both these earphones come with interchangeable tips of three sizes including small, medium and large. HMD Global hasn’t yet revealed the pricing or the availability of its Active Series of earphones yet. It remains to be seen if they bring in these earphones to India as they are due to launch the Android smartphones next week.
