The new preview boasts a number of changes including providing you with the ability to save files into the company’s own storage cloud service OneDrive by default. The new preview works on desktops/laptops running Windows 10, Windows 7, Windows 8 as well as on Windows-powered tablets. You are, however, required to uninstall Office 2013 from your device to install the new preview. In addition, Outlook — the email client in the Office suite — is also getting some new features. You will now be able to send larger files much easier. On a blog post, the company confirmed that the long-rumored real-time co-authoring feature will be coming to Word 2016 in a future update. If you want to test it out right now, you can find it in Office Online. The company is also bringing a number of features to Excel including a one-click forecasting which will help you with creating forecasts on your data series with a single click to future trends; and a quick option to publish files to Microsoft PowerBI Preview. The company also teases a new enticing feature called ‘Smart Applications’ which will “learn as you work.” Some of these features include Tell Me, a new search tool available in PowerPoint, Word, and Excel which follows your text commands, and help you with finding the right tools to get things done. Another feature in this league is Clutter. It’s a new Exchange feature that reduces noise from your emails and only showcases important emails and alerts. Then there is Insight, a Bing-powered feature that provides you with contextual information from the web. You can download the preview from here. Take it out for a whirl and let us know how you like it.
