So, you need not worry about breaking Moto X4 that easily. Furthermore, the back of the device curves gently towards the edges, thereby giving it a nice in-hand feel. To the center lies the dual camera setup surrounded by a matte finish metallic ring. The front houses the 5.2-inch FHD LTPS display, a Fingerprint sensor, and a Moto logo. Moreover, the Moto X4 also comes with IP68 water and dustproof certification. This means you can go out for a swim with your brand-new Moto.

One of the most interesting features of the Moto X4 is the ability to connect to four Bluetooth devices at once. So in case you are in the mood for a house party, you can simply use the Moto X4 as a hub for your four Bluetooth speakers. Additionally, you can manually control the volume of each speaker directly from the smartphone. For those wondering, Bluetooth-based software from a French startup called Tempow is behind this incredibly useful feature of the Moto X4. Motorola has apparently licensed the software from Tempow. While the feature is currently exclusive to the Moto X4, but we find no reason why Tempow wouldn’t license its software to other manufacturers if there’s enough excitement around this.
Dual Rear Camera with Dual Autofocus Pixel Technology
The Moto X4 features a highly touted dual rear camera setup. Motorola recently launched another budget dual-camera smartphone in the form of the Moto G5S. That said, the setup on the mid-range Moto X4 is a mile ahead of the one found in its budget sibling. It uses a 12MP f/2.0 Dual Autofocus Pixel sensor clubbed with an 8MP f/2.2 wide-angle unit. The secondary camera has a 120-degree field of view. The Moto X4 rear camera setup also comes with a CCT dual LED flash. Sadly, it misses out on OIS and makes use of Gyroscope-based EIS technology for video stabilization.
On top of these, the camera software of the Moto X4 is feature packed. It provides you with the ability to adjust the depth of the field, spot color, replace the background, selective focus, scan business cards/barcodes and use special ultra-wide angle mode. The Moto X4 is capable of shooting 4K and 1080p video at 30fps and 60fps, respectively. On the other hand, the front 16MP f/2.0 camera with selfie flash features an adaptive low light mode. In this mode, the images are shot in 4MP resolution. There are also a number of face filters and dedicated beautification and professional modes.

Absence of Moto Mods
Oh, Moto Mods, we really miss you! Well, that might be the reaction of a number of Motorola diehards with a soft corner for Mods. Furthermore, the Moto X4 also misses out on Moto maker support. This essentially means that you have no other option but to use a dbrand skin for customizing the smartphone. The mid-range from the Lenovo-owned brand comes in two color options – Super Black and Sterling Blue.
A bit too Bulky
Moto X4 may be a well-built phone, but it comes at a cost. The smartphone is a little too bulky at 9.45mm. That said, the width of the smartphone is the largest at its camera bump. It, however, isn’t that heavy (163g) despite having a 3,000mAH battery. Apparently, the Moto X4 uses an anodized aluminum frame with a 3D rear-contoured design. This helps it in keeping its weight under check.
Snapdragon 630 lacks the Punch
The Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 2.2GHz octa-core processor on the Moto X4 appears to be underpowered, at least on paper. Considering the fact that the Moto X4 is a mid-range 2017 offering from Motorola, most of the fans were expecting the newer generation Qualcomm Snapdragon 660 internals, if not the SD 835.
Slightly Low on RAM
Furthermore, the Moto X4 misses out on 4 GB RAM. Instead, it comes with 3 GB as standard. While the onboard RAM will meet the requirement of most users, some heavy users might feel a little choked especially during multitasking. It would have been great if Motorola decided to launch a higher end variant of the Moto X4 with 4 GB RAM.
