The Xiaomi Mi 6C is expected to sport a 5.1-inch FHD display. While the SoC is not mentioned explicitly, the very mention of Adreno 512 as the GPU helps us zero in on the octa-core Snapdragon 660. The SoC will be clocked at 2.2GHz and will be coupled with 6GB of RAM. On the storage front, the device is expected to offer 64GB of internal storage and most likely a microSD card slot as well. According to the benchmarks, the Xiaomi Mi 6c will tout a 12-Megapixel primary sensor along with 5-Megapixel secondary sensor. Furthermore, the device will run on Android 7.1.1 wrapped in MIUI 8. If we go by the GFX listing, it is pretty evident that the only difference between the Xiaomi Mi 6 and the Mi 6c is the SoC. While the Mi 6 offers the top of the line Snapdragon 835, the Mi 6c settles for a Snapdragon 660. Another difference is the lower resolution secondary/front facing camera; the Xiaomi Mi 6 offers an 8-Megapixel selfie camera while the Mi 6c settles in for a 5-Megapixel unit. That being said, the Mi 6c will be priced at a lower price point, lesser than the $360 for the Mi 6. In a nutshell, the Mi 6c is expected to shape up as a formidable mid-range offering especially with the 6GB RAM and Snapdragon 660 onboard. Considering that there have been mixed reactions coming from the company regarding the launch of the Mi 6 in India, we can’t help but wonder if Xiaomi indeed launches the Mi 6c instead of Mi 6 in India. It’s entirely possible that the company will settle for the Mi 6c instead of the Mi 6 considering the price-sensitivity of the Indian market without having to breach the Rs 20,000 mark. The Mi 6c can settle in nicely in place of Mi 5. Stay tuned for more details.
